I bought this as new from Albert Porter @ Porterhouse Audio. I do have my receipt. I believe the purchase was made in 2019. However, I will stress the most important thing in two words... LOW USE. My work schedule never allowed me much time for audio. I would listen roughly two days per week, until I left my company in December, 2020. Since then, I have enjoyed more listening time, but the PC-7 hasn't seen any use since mid-2020. The reason for this is simple. My EMT cartridge is a perfect match to my Shindo Preamp and Auditorium T2 SUT. The latter is designed around the EMT. I would say this PC-7 has been broken in, but that's about it. Maybe 80 hours max. It's been sitting in a drawer, mounted to my spare Kuzma head shell with blu-tack affixing the head shell to the box. That's exactly where I had to dig it out to snap these pics. Unfortunately, with no provision for loading on my Shindo, and the fact the PC-7 is much lower impedance than EMT's, this was a failed venture for me. Lastly, I should ad that even with the mismatch, the PC-7 sounded very nice. IMO, it has the edge over my EMT in refinement, but lacks the EMT's wallop. So despite the slight mismatch, the PC acquitted itself quite nicely. I just did not have the ability to dial it in like the match made EMT. In fact, I had the same issue with a Koetsu Jade when I moved to Shindo. It was just too polite. That is exactly the same scenario here, so perhaps it's the 6 ohm impedance of the PC-7 and the Koetsu. If not, it may be due to the simple fact that my gear leans to the warm/full side. May guess is the latter, but at this point I can't be certain. So there you have it. This is not a small purchase, so please feel free to call, text, or email me with questions. I can remount this for an audition if a potential buyer would like to hear it. I have a Luxman 550 and Harbeths, along with Shindo pre/amp w/ Altec's. So there are some options. I will state here that I've been thinking of selling my EMT as well. If I do go through with that, it would be to move up the line with EMT. That's the current state of affairs anyway.
Cell: (518) 935-0656...due to potential fees, US calls only please. If you're in Canada, you can text me, and perhaps we could set up a phone call.
An audition in my dedicated room can be arranged but would have to be on a Sunday.
