Bel Canto Design DAC 1.5 w. LNS1 Power Supply

The Bel Canto DAC 1.5 with LNS1 power supply, remote and BC umbilical cord. Yes, the LNS1 power supply makes a big difference if anyone was wondering - it takes it to a whole other level. What stands out, as expected, are better dynamics and bass. In my humble opinion this is the most under-rated BC DAC. I am a big BC fan and have had/have several of their DAC’s including DAC 3, 2.7 and 3.7. Compared to the DAC 3 there is a huge leap forward. After getting the 1.5 I had to sell the DAC 3 - it just sounded so inferior to me. Comparing the 1.5 to he 2.7 and 3.7 I find that the sonic signature is very similar. In other words if you set them up side-by-side you would feel right at home with either. They all have that natural, relaxed sound that you can listen to for hours without fatigue while being extremely resolving with great dynamics, soundstage and imaging. The 2.7 and 3.7 are very similar and with critical listening you will just get a little more of everything compared to the 1,5. However, I think you need to do some serious critical listening on a high end system to notice. Needless to say I have loved my many hours of listening with this DAC on Acoustic Zen Adagios driven by BC REF500M’s - what a glorious combination. I am in a smaller home now so some of my audio stuff needs a new loving home!
