Wilson Audio Watt/Puppy 5.1

I purchased this set from Audiogon in February 2020.. I LOVE these speakers, but unfortunately my new space does not. (neither does my roommate).

The WATT Puppy is to Wilson Audio as the 911 is to Porsche.  Performance and grace designed to be best in class.  An achievement that built the brand and stands the test of time.   True, it has improved over the years with the latest Sasha W/P DAW, but at $38K it should sound better.   
  
By the time David Wilson was designing the W/P 5 he had made significant improvements on a speaker that had already captured the attention of the audiophile world.  It was also a highly recommended Stereophile Class A rated product.  The 5.1 added a new umbilical between the lower unit and the upper mid/ tweeter module which addressed a midrange dip.    
The W/P sound is full-bodied, full-range and captivating.  The W/P's have always struck a balance between dynamic, musical and lifelike.  The sound is shockingly good even today.  There are a surprising number of speakers in the $10K range you can buy now, that simply do not sound as good the the W/P 5's.   
  
This is a pair we took in locally and they are in the best condition we've ever seen a pair of 5.1's.  All drivers look to be about 5 years old, although are likely original.  We usually peel off the diffraction pads and polish the gloss black face, but these were so clean and in such good condition we just left them alone.  Even the grills are in very good condition.  The cabinets have the usual scuffs and fine scratches.  The lower cabinet has a couple chips on the corners, but the parts that really matter are in the best condition.  Even the binding posts are shiny and clean.   
  
The speakers include the original bound manual, the original feet / diodes, the original upgraded umbilical, original grills, and new wooden crates.   
  
If you've ever dreamed of owning Wilson's, this is a fantastic opportunity to experience them and start your journey.

CONDITION -  Drivers are excellent for their age.  Grills and diffraction pads are very good.  Cabinets have scratches and a couple chips on edges.
