Nuforce MCP-18 multichannel analog preamp.
"Five straight wires with gain."
A super-accurate preamp, with excellent specs:
THD+N:0.002% at 1kHz.
S/N Ratio: 105dB.
Frequency response: 10Hz–100kHz -0.06dB; 20Hz-20kHz-0.04dB.
I used it as a volume control between the Oppo and Anthem. (You can connect the Oppo directly to a power amp if you prefer, but that slightly reduces precision.)
Price when discontinued: $995.
Not listed in Audigon's blue book, so using an average of used sales prices from online (including Audiogon).
Local pickup only.
Purchased ~10/2014.
Excellent condition.
Smoke-free house, pets kept in finished basement + outside enclosure, away from main living area.
Moving from house to apartment to fix horrible commute necessitates sale.
Currently located in well-kept storage locker in east San Jose, California, where it's not doing anybody any good. Finally willing to part with it, despite being sad about it.
