Wyred 4 Sound STI-500

Up for sale is my Wyred 4 Sound STI-500 integrated amp. I received this amp from my father-in-law, who was the second owner. The amp has been used sparingly and thoughtfully in a smoke-free house. It works perfectly and sounds wonderful, and I would keep it if not for the fact that I would like to switch to a smaller unit with a DAC (for space considerations).

I conservatively rated this unit at an 7 due to some minor cosmetic scuffs and the fact that it is, after all, a used amplifier; however, it is a real power house and has worked seamlessly since I have owned it.

Cosmetically, there are a few scuffs on the case and the remote control battery cover does not stay sealed (currently I have some tape on the cover, which works fine). The remote is also a little tacky, which I've read other Wyred 4 Sound remote controls tend to get over time.

Currently, I have the W4S powering Dynaudio speakers and a sub, and it sounds fantastic.

Includes amplifier, power cord, and remote control. I do not have the original box and would prefer to sell locally in the DC/MD/VA area; but if shipping is necessary, I can package the unit securely.

The STI-500 is a marriage of Wyred 4 Sound's ST-500 stereo amplifier* with its STP preamplifier. The two separates retail for a total of $3300; the integrated for an affordable $1999. It is rated at 250 WPC into 8 Ohms and a staggering 550WPC into 4 Ohms.
