Stax DA-80

In its day, Stax’s DA-80 was the solid-state Class A amplifier act to beat. Like its larger sibling, the DA-300, the 40/45 WPC DA-80 did it all. This example, #0303, is in perfect working order, though has not been updated and no parts have been replaced. Acquired from the original owner, it has been on display in a Stax “legacy” system and really never used. While not perfect, the faceplate is nearly so, and I’d seriously doubt that any extant example is in better cosmetic or operational condition. Note, the square power button lamp does not illuminate, and to my recollection, never did. Note, this is a heavy beast. There is no original box, but it’s been carefully packed in a heavy cardboard amplifier carton. A second amp, #0191, in pristine cosmetic condition, was bought years ago but arrived with one channel dead. It is available to the successful buyer for $100 and the cost of additional shipping, and/or pick up in person. I am in the Los Angeles area and pickup in person is highly encouraged; I have seen too much rare and perfect gear destroyed in shipping despite best efforts to pack properly.
