Shunyata Research Hydra 8 V-Ray Power Conditioner - 230V

Purchased new by me in 2008, this Hydra 8 V-Ray is 230V with eight (8) US configuration outlets (see photos). This is the so-called 'Asia' version, which allows you to use US spec. power cables.  All Hydras come with a C19 IEC power socket so you will need a corresponding power cable to connect the Hydra to your wall outlet. In addition to protecting your hi-fi from spikes and surges, the Hydra does an amazing job of adding extension, solidarity, smoothness and purity to your music, making it sound at the same time more extended in the treble while removing any grain and hash.  Midrange becomes more liquid and bass more extended, solid and  detailed. The noise floor of the system is lower and music emerges from a more profound silence, allowing you to hear far more detail like instrument timbres and vocalist's breaths and swallows, making music sound more realistic. But don't take my word for it, Google the reviews. In my system I hooked up all my electronics, including power amp and the system gained outright dynamics while dynamic contrasts were enhanced. Due to business travel and time commitments I estimate that the unit has only seen around 1200 hours of use. Functionally and cosmetically the unit is 100%. The Hydra's RRP was $3995 and I'm asking $1650, which  represents truly excellent value for your money, given you'd need to spend something like 3 times that to get equivalent performance.
