Amperex Holland Bugle Boy 6DJ8 / ECC88 matched pair with matching date codes, large halo getters, Bugle Boy logos and pristine polished steel pins. These pair was produced in the Amperex Holland Herleen factory in January (Delta1A2) of 1961 and ship in new stock white boxes.
The 6DJ8 / ECC88 tube was invented by Amperex / Philips in the middle 1950's. The large halo Bugle Boy is the 2rd generation of the tube following the late 1950's D-getter Bugle Boy. The large halo Bugle Boy combines the refinement, detail and midrange magic of the earlier Bugle Boy D-getter with increased impact, weight and bottom end, and is seen by most as the pinnacle of the 6DJ8 tube. Listen to the best 6DJ8 ever made, from the company and factory that invented them.
I polish all steel pin tubes that I sell. I have found a dramatic improvement in performance when the years of oxidation are removed. Openness, speed and leading edge are improved, along with a tightening of the bass with better depth and a more dimensional midrange.
Fully tested for noise, gas and shorts. New Mutualconductance (gm) on my calibrated Hickok 600A is 9,250 / 9,250 this pair tested:
Tube 1: 10,000 / 10,000
Tube 2: 10,000 / 10,000
$99 for the pair plus $5.50 for USPS Priority Mail shipping in the US. International shipping is determined by country of destination.
