We absolutely love these fine amps but moving to a small place
They generate the most holographic midrange I have ever heard
The lack of an output transformer adds so much life to the music
You now can obtain organic tube sound though more difficult-to-drive speakers
These were modified by Jena Labs
The Jena mods ($800)
Output and input stage rewire with Jena 18ga wire
Convert cathode follower to 5687 tube
Add 470uf storage caps to power supply
Add front end switches for bias and offset adjustment
Stock Atmasphere upgrades included
Full front end power supply hex-freds, pi filter, etc
Caddock resistors
Poly caps bypassing electrolytic
Cardas binding posts
Fully retubed approximately 50 hours ago with Sovtek 6as7,NOS Sylvania Black Blate 6SN&s (6),Vintage Blackplate 5687 tube US
In one word they are now phenomenon sounding
The Jena overall improvement is substantial over the stock/oem amps
The musical detail retrieval has improved greatly
Bass extension and articulation is much better
Soundstage presentation is now larger
These have been my everyday listening pair in my home
The sound is nothing short of spectacular
Completely quiet, warm, musical
Incredible sound stage and are very musical, with massive reserve for driving any speaker you throw at them
You will not often see a good pair for sale and rarely in this great looking and operational condition
