3.1
BluRay HD Receiver developed as an all-purpose machine for music
lovers who wish to play music to the highest
quality from the various sources and media, as well as raise
the (generally very mediocre) sound quality of their TV set to a high standard,
but are not prepared to find space in their room for six or more loudspeakers.
K2 Blue is designed to feed two stereo loudspeakers
and - if desired - a Centre speaker, a Sub-Woofer and two
additional external speakers for an adjacent room. Various user-selectable
operating modes such as three-channel or virtual surround, provide facilities
for optimum reproduction depending on the loudspeakers connected to the unit
and the type of music preferred. K2 is equipped with high-quality
BluRay mechanism incorporating three layers. This means that
they deliver extremely good sound quality
from CD as well as a superb picture
from BluRay and DVD (which is upscaled automatically). The digital data streams
are converted by high-quality 24-bit / 192 kHz
D/A audio converters made by Wolfson. The amplifiers employed
are T+A high-speed switching power amplifiers (double MOSFET's), which are an
in-house development. Each amplifier generates continuous
power of more than 150 Watts, and is capable of delivering a current of 25 Ampere;
this is ample even for large loudspeakers and big rooms. The K2 Blu is equipped
with high-quality streaming client

Questions for the seller
Hi, This is the first i heard of this T plus A K2 Blu, is this made in USA? How old is this unit? Thanks, Ben
Hi Ben. Thank you for your question. T+A is made in Germany. Check attached link for detailed information [filtered] Unit will be 4 years old in July. Best regards. Hubert
Me again, can i hook this up to my preamp like a regular blu ray or cd player? Then use it as additional source for my subwoofer? Thanks, Ben
No, you can't. There is no signal output. You can only hook up periferrial units to T+A. Hubert
Hi Hubert, I am not sure if my first two reply went through, anyway, this unit has three analogue sources - tv, tape, and Aux. do you think preamp can be plugged in to the aux? My last hope, i really want to have this amazing blu ray. Thanks ben
Hi Ben, I just looked into user manual. It says "AUX IN - universal pre-amplifier input". I can send you the whole user manual via [filtered] if you wish. Hubert
Hi Hubert, Spoke with sight and sound gallery, they said, the new version of K2, which is the 3.1, can be hooked up to the pre amplifier. If we hook up your unit to the pre amp, the sound will not come out of the speaker. I dont know if that's true. I cannot download the owner's now, my son will help me later. However, can you pls take a picture of the section where it says we can hook up a universal preamp to it. THanks, Ben
Hi Ben, correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that you want take signal from T+A and send it to pre-amplifier. Then I assume the signal has to be transported from pre-amplifier to amplifier and from amplifier to loudspeakers. If this is the case then it won't work in my opinion because AUX socket is an input socket not an output socket. I'll send you a picture of user manual section by [filtered]. Regards. Hubert
Does your K2 has XLR connections?
No it hasn't.
Finally accessed the manual and yes I see Aux In can be used as preamp input. Sight and sound - also T plus A dealer is trying to sell a demo unit for half the price but does not have the bluray. Jist to verify, how satisfy are with the sound of the cds and bluray pictures?
Sound is solid, detailed and with a wide sound stage. Well balanced. I was also satisfied with picture however it was never my priority and I'm not expert in this field. In 99% I used this unit to watch concerts and it was the only unit out of dozens I tested that offered really good sound. Just to give some examples I compared it with Oppo BDP-105 and sound wise T+A was by far better. Rgds. Hubert
