In the Absolute Sound review, they said it was the best player under $5000. The reviewer even bought the sample as reference.
Comes with original box, instruction manual and remote control. The unit is just about perfect with the exception of the tiniest scratch on the face(See pics) right above the display. As you can see, it is not visible from the front without close inspection and not visible at all in the photo. "Feels" more like an 8/10 to me but must be listed as a 7 by technicality. Without the scratch it would be a 9 for sure. Overall the unit is in superb condition.
Most of the reviews I read spoke about the tremendous improvement that could be had by dampening vibrations of the rather resonant panels. I have added quite a bit of Dynamat Xtreme to all the inside panels as shown(and including the transport mechanism) and the sound is much improved over stock. No other changes have been made and so the unit maintains the stock unit's sound character that it is so famous for. I am no stranger to doing modifications so not worries there.
