I am selling a NAIM CDX-2 (Ser. N. 226454) that is in great condition which according to NAIM is the best tray-based CD in the world rivaling high-end turntables. The unit rocks - only reason I am selling is because I upgraded to the NDS and no longer need it.
The unit was upgraded 18 months ago by the Sound Organization at a cost of $450 to the latest specification, including a BNC connector for correct impedance matching, as well as performance-enhancing modifications to the internal boards. As a result the unit now acts as a transport requiring the use of an external DAC (the SuperNait, NAIM DAC, any NAIM streamer or other DAC will work).
The unit is in great condition - take a look at the pictures. I have rated it conservatively 8/10. The player will be shipped with its original box, double-boxed, with the manual, puck, power termination, power cable and remote control.
If interested for an additional $250 I can include a NAIM BNC cable in mint condition.
The unit retails for $6,400 and the last unit sold on Audiogon went for $3,160 according to the Bluebook. Buyer pays Paypal fees of 3%, as well as shipping costs
