Conrad Johnson ACT 2 Series 2 Great Condition - Great Sound

For sale is a Conrad Johnson ACT 2 Series 2 preamplifier in great condition. I have it for about three years with about 900 hours of use (based upon the fact that I listened about 6 hours per week). It has been on the rack since it was removed out of the shipping box and in a pet and smoke free environment. I am the original owner and this is the original ACT 2 Series 2, not upgraded from the original ACT 2.

There is a mark on the back plate around the right channel of the PH/AUX RCA connector due to pluggin and unplugging of the interconnect. The mark is not on the RCA. Additionally, there are some smudges (possibly discolored by the cleaner I used) on the back black plate surrounding some RCA connectors. These are not scratches. They just don't look as black as the rest of the back plate. Again, the smudges are on the back plate, not on the RCA connectors. These are only cosmetic flaws. No impact on the sound quality at all. I just want to disclose it and don't want to catch the buyer by surprise.

The RCA connectors are in excellent condition. The unused RCA connectors were always covered with RCA caps to protect from dust and other foreign elements. Please see the pictures above. Other than the smudges and the mark noted above on the back of the preamp, the front, the sides, and the top are all in pristine condition.

As shown in the pictures, you will get the owner's manual, remote control, power cord, stock tubes, and of course the ACT 2 Series 2. The stock tubes were used for no more than 200 hours. I also include in the asking price a set of four 6H30P DR super tubes with the Balanced Audio Technology logo on it. These are premium tubes that blow away the stock tubes. I bought this set for about $650 from BAT.

This preamp needs no introduction. The original ACT 2 that I also owned before the Series 2 was already very good. The ACT 2 Series 2 was even more detailed, more solid imaging, bigger soundstage, and dynamics. One of the best out there. The CJ build quality is outstanding and this preamp has been extremely reliable. It performs flawlessly.
