I purchased this unit in January 2008, as a dealer demo from Quest for Sound here on Audiogon. It is the original version, with a pair of balanced inputs, which I run my phono stage through. It has a very rich, full sound and it completely transformed my system for the better when I installed it. There was way more to love. I use NOS Sylvania 6NS7's in it, but it really does not need them in order to sound good, current production tubes sound just as nice. You must upgrade the power cable though, this thing has a huge outboard power supply. The change from the stock cord is startling. I can sell you a good PS Audio if you need. Finances force me to downsize, please see my other auction for a Rega Jupiter 2000 cd player.
After I owned the unit a couple years an intermittent crackle started and I took it into a tube repair specialist. He spent a couple of hours re-soldering, cleaning up connections and generally dolling it up inside. Much better now.
Rated 8/10 for age, unit has been well cared for. I can't find any major scratches on face or on the acrylic tube cage. There is some light usage wear around the knobs and the power button. All printing is intact. Includes power cord, external power supply, umbilical cord, remote and manual. Buyer pays shipping. All original packaging. The remote has never been used.
