RME ADI-2 Pro Anniversary Edition Ultra-fidelity PCM/DSD 768 kHz AD/DA
Converter & A Serious Collector's Item

Dealer Demo w/USA Warranty & Less Than 20 Hours Gentle Use

I'm Asking $1,999 ($2499 List)
(SAVE $500 BY PURCHASING THIS DEMO UNIT)

Same business day insured shipping included at no additional cost.

(Includes all original factory material plus I'll include a nice optional USB cable and a pair of TRS 1/4" to RCA plugs in case you desire to hook this up using the unbalanced TRS output chassis jacks using RCA cables. If you have a balanced amp, connect via the pair of XLR chassis jacks.)

I’m an RME dealer and I just purchased this brand new all black Anniversary Edition of the RME ADI-2 PRO DAC three weeks ago to test out it's capabilities first hand.  It has been carefully and lightly used in my audio room for less than 20 hours and I'm making it available for sale. This is a superb sounding DAC and now, one of my favorites. I can't recommend it more highly particularly with the beautiful Anniversary Edition upgrades!

Only 500 of these limited edition DAC’s have been built for worldwide distribution and only 19 have been imported for sale by our US Distributor and only these include the standard RME USA warranty. If you purchase this DAC from outside the US on the "gray market", there will be NO US warranty capability so be careful!

I purchased the first one our distributor made available a few weeks ago to find out what all the fuss was in the various reviews. I will be glad to order a brand new unopened Anniversary Edition DAC for you but it will require the full $2,499 list price. No discounting is allowed here in the US.

However, this demo unit will be sold for $1,999 providing a $500 savings. I doubt you’ll find another demo unit since these DAC’s will probably be sold out soon. So hurry if you might be interested in this unique opportunity. Let me know if you have any questions. Sound quality is incredible and flexibility is amazing.

Please Note: I will also be glad to provide unopened factory fresh units (standard or limited Anniversary Edition) at full list price. Just ask.

HERE ARE SOME SPECIFICS ABOUT THIS EXTREMELY UNIQUE & HIGH QUALITY DAC:

Last year RME celebrated their 20th year anniversary, with the German manufacturer announcing no less than four new products at Musikmesse 2016. One of those new devices was the RME ADI-2 Pro, a feature-packed update to the RME ADI-2, featuring incredibly precise audio quality, powerful headphone amplifiers, plus a host of innovative features that will appeal to both mastering engineers and high-end audio aficionados alike. With the ADI-2 Pro proving popular in both pro audio and Hi-fi circles, RME just unveiled their new RME ADI-2 Pro Anniversary Edition.

Strictly limited to 500 units worldwide (with only 19 units imported for sale into the United States), the RME ADI-2 Pro AE features the same sound and functionality as its namesake, but comes decked out in an all-black housing, matching the style of audiophile-level HiFi setups. audioXpress has been testing and measuring the ADI-2 Pro and we can share we are totally impressed with its audio quality. This exotic looking Anniversary Edition will just increase its appeal with many potential users looking to leverage the headphone amplifiers and format conversion abilities.

RME recommends the ADI-2 Pro also as a universal monitoring controller, high-class A/D converter and high-end audio interface for computer-based measuring systems. AudioXpress' measurements attest that this will be indeed a suitable choice for high-end enthusiasts and home users, as well as professional recording studios.

According to RME, even though the units are essentially the same, the main differences between the RME ADI-2 Pro and the RME ADI-2 Pro AE include three orange LEDs that illuminate the PCB and the components and are visible with a unique see-through top, while the plexi's inside print (scratch protected) states 'Anniversary Edition, 20 Years of RME'.

The rear TS double socket has gold-plated contacts, to match the front panel headphones connections, and an additional metal shield optimizes crosstalk suppression between the left and right XLR inputs. The shield is similar to the one preventing crosstalk from the TS outputs to XLR R input, which is a feature of all RME ADI Converters.

Finally, the four rubber feet have been replaced with four stylized Hi-Fi feet with brushed chrome design, the four holes on the side of the original, designed to allow for rack ear mounting, have been removed and there's a special sleeve and manual (with additional text and matching photo).

"RME’s anniversary reference AD/DA converter is a host of devices all put together into one unit, with a simple and mostly automated way of using it right out of the box.
A unit with the industry’s biggest footprint per feature ratio, excellent tech specs, crystal clear and transparent sound signature, and two extremely powerful headphone outputs," RME states.

As a flexible converter available, the ADI-2 Pro offers balanced/unbalanced analog I/Os, double Extreme Power headphone outputs, SteadyClock III, 4-stage hardware input and output level control, DSP-based signal processing, external power supply operation, Class Compliant USB compatibility, sample rates up to 768 kHz as well as DSD record and Direct DSD playback (256 / 11.2 MHz).

The USB 2.0 port is fully Class Compliant (UAC 2) for connection with compatible iOS devices, and is also used for firmware updates. Including an external switched power supply with lockable connector, the ADI-2 Pro can be easily powered from battery, opening up mobile applications as well as galvanically isolated use cases. As a computer interface the ADI-2 Pro offers a stereo (2 in / 2 out) and a multichannel mode (6 in / 8 out).

Compatibility with Mac OS X comes right out of the box. Under Windows the ADI-2 Pro uses RME's MADIface series driver, for full WDM and ASIO compatibility and highest performance.

RME has also incorporated many unique features, not found on any comparable devices, like 5-band parametric EQs for fully individual phones compensation, adjustable Bass/Treble controls with quick access, a binaural crossfeed function, adjustable loudness filter, selectable AD/DA filters, four discrete I/O reference levels, auto reference level setting, auto balanced phones mode, and many more. The display is not only used to control the unit, but also shows warning and guidance messages.

Professional features such as M/S Processing, stereo width and phase reversal up to full control and storage of all settings are included, as well as RME’s famous Spectral Analyzer, a 30-band biquad filtered analysis tool offering unprecedented musical visualization, perfectly complementing the high-resolution IPS display.
