The Synergistic Research Active SE USB 2.0 cable is surely one of the best. I auditioned this cable along with a highly respected competitor’s top USB cable, a cable then serving as the reference USB cable of the editor-in-chief of one of the most widely read stereo magazines. I listened to the ‘other’ cable first and then put in the Synergistic Research cable for comparison. It took me only about 10 seconds to know that this was the cable for me. The reason I’m selling this cable is that I recently upgraded to Synergistic Research’s top of the line Galileo LE USB cable selling at twice the list price of the offered combo.

The ‘Active’ in the title comes from the fact that the cable is powered by an outboard power coupler (MPC) – similar in size to a wall wart in this case. The cable being offered comes with the Galileo MPC (mini power coupler), a completely reworked version of the stock MPC and a $400 upgrade. Also included are the latest versions of the Gray and Silver Enigma Tuning Bullets allowing you to tailor the sound to your system and your tastes.

This cable/MPC was purchased new from an authorized Synergistic Research dealer and is like new functionally and cosmetically – the 8/10 rating simply reflects two years use. The cable/MPC ships with factory packaging – there was no manual. These are current product offerings by Synergistic Research.
