Here we have an excellent FR-1 with the thick copper body that protects internally & externally against a whole load of EMI, EMF, RF and others that abound in our airwaves.
Cart body is absolutely mint and the price of this much sought after gem would have been at least 3x what I`m asking had I not caught the cantilever on some fabric and bust it !
Annoyed ? ~ no of course not.... cursing everything there ever was and mans ultimate stupidity ? ~ well, maybe....
Anyway, I`ve listed this rare cart @ 5/10 for this reason only. It`s a limited edition unit that is already a collectors piece from the uber precise FR hand built gurus in Japan.
This is one of the `true moving coil` cartridges there are with NO MAGNETS in play and all windings in ultra high grade silver... check this cartridge out online... it`s like a top micro AudioNote Transformer on your tonearm !
A couple of hundred bucks will make this body an absolute stunner with a new cantilever / stylus ~ at least equal to mgea heavy weight fighters such as sub $1500 Koetsu and XYZ`s.
Over there in the US there are many more cartridge refurbishers than over here, and massively cheaper ~ so, why not re-build a classic gem?
