For sale is a Fidelity Research FR-5E MM cartridge in very good condition. This is a rare cartridge that ranks as one of the best vintage MM's.
As you'll see in the pictures the stylus is excellent and the cantilever is straight. It plays wonderfully and lives up to its billing sound-wise!
There is one caveat that rated 7/10. I purchased it from a Japanese dealer without much info, and when I tried to remove the stylus it seemed stuck in place. Given its vintage I didn't bother to force anything and just enjoyed it as is.
It may be glued, as one member informed me: "at the time that cartridge was on the market, there was an underground opinion, originating with the Japanese, that the stylus assembly should be glued to the cartridge for best sound."
