This nicely built, great sounding wonderful pair of enclosures was properly designed for many 8” full range drivers who like to be back loaded in the Lowther style or up graded Lowther type drivers.
These are in good cosmetic condition. small hard to see scratch on the side towards the back of one speaker (see pictures). Glorious wood veneers extra nice looking...
No factory boxes. Making suitable shipping boxes add $200 + shipping costs.
PLEASE NOTE: We are selling the R-1 REPS Custom Cobalt Alloy full Cap Lowther style hand made drivers separately by RL Acoustique Regularly $7,150 Audiogon priced pair $3,500. Also Lowther drivers available with bad surrounds available for $350 see seprate Audiogon ad.
Cabinets:
The Lamhorn 1.8 uses the finest materials available. The cabinet is made of 25 mm ( 1" ) 17 ply, Brazilian Birch plywood without any voids. This wood is heavier and more dense than MDF of the same thickness. All internal and external wood surfaces are finely sanded and sealed before being screwed and glued together. The cabinet is finished with matched oak veneers as standard with rosewood optional. Matching grills are also supplied.
Wiring:
Internal wiring is pure silver foil GOERTZ supplied by Alpha-Core. It is the finest available and enables the music to flow with unmatched balance. Binding posts are Cardas Silvers.

The Lamhorn 1.8 has been designed with the listener in mind. Indeed, over 3 years of research and development has led to the current Lamhorn 1.8 Loudspeaker.
RL Acoustique carried out intense study, measurements, and critical listening to the original and current Lowther designs; we feel we have bettered these offerings by a significant margin, and music lovers and the audio press seem to agree.
The RL Acoustique Lamhorn 1.8 incorporates the simplicity of a single driver and horn configuration to deliver the ultimate in musical enjoyment with no crossover induced distortions, distortions that rob the music of proper timing and emotional impact. One has to hear a high quality horn of this nature to fully appreciate the immediacy and palpability of the music. These qualities are further enhanced with the internal use of pure silver wire, which bring the listener another step closer to the performance.
