Tannoy GRF

During the 50’s and 60’s, Tannoy produced some of their best speakers, notably, the GRF series of horn speakers. These speakers enabled the various co-ax drivers to perform to their very best.

Guy R Fountain, the founder of Tannoy, put his initials to a few exceptional speakers, including the massive GRF Corner Horn and the GRF Rectangular Horn.

This sale is for a custom built GRF Rectangular horn to accommodate the Monitor Gold, Red and HPD drivers.

Using exceptional quality European Birch ply (very thin layering and void free), Sydney based horn specialist, Creation Audio, custom builds the GRF Rectangular horn to specific requirements.

This sale includes:

European Birch ply (19mm) cabinets in American Walnut veneer, with matching Walnut veneer edging. Cabinet height at 1000mm (without plinth, normally 50mm). Cabinet depth (including front overhang for grill frame) is 495mm. Additional bracing is added over the original design. Finish is hand polished Bees Wax for a traditional (satin) look. The cabinets weigh approximately 75Kgs each.

Purchasers can supply drivers, or Creation Audio may assist in this regard.

Grill frames are included, and the successful buyer can choose ¾ or full length frames. Retro audio cloth can be arranged in a range of colours, and is included in this sale.

A delivery allowance of AUD$600 is included in the price, which covers overseas sea freight to US and UK.

Please allow approx 4 weeks for these speakers to be hand built, wired and tested.
