Here is your chance to own a pair of reference-quality loudspeakers at 25% of new price. Why? Because they are not perfect cosmetically - though you will never notice unless you look closely - and because the manufacturer does not have a large presence (which has absolutely nothing to do with his designs - he has a cult following for good reason). These speakers weigh nearly 200 lb per side - around 80 lb for the speaker itself and even more for the stand. Both are made of *granite*. The cabinets are absolutely non-resonant. They are a transmission line with phase-perfect crossover, giving them a completely seamless, point-source sound. Included are the requisite set of six Stillpoints to decouple the speakers. Some press: https://www.stereophile.com/rmaf2009/intuitive_audios_new_wowser/index.html http://www.6moons.com/industryfeatures/rmaf09/1.html Dale Pitcher oversaw the tweeter upgrade personally at the previous owner's house. The previous owner also owned Dale's newer, more expensive Mosaic speakers and preferred the Gamma Summits. He still runs the Gamma Summits - he had two pairs and kept one. One speaker has a small crack on the side of the base, and one stand has a hairline crack. Such cracks are not uncommon in these speakers and have no reason to spread. They do not have any sonic effect whatsoever. They also look much worse in the pics with flash - they are difficult even to notice in person. They were present before I bought the speakers and I was a bit concerned about them, but laughed when I actually saw them. I have the factory boxes and the pallet they were shipped on. I will ship them freight for $400 flat but prefer local pickup. Trade considered.
