WLM (Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur) of Austria has been making excellent speakers for about 10 years now. They are much more famous in Europe, and have been making in-roads to North America for about six years. Red Wine Audio of the US carries the lower lines like Stella, La Scala and Diva. Check out the WLM website, and you'll also find excellent reviews from Six Moons and other publications, as well as Show Coverage. Some WLM speakers have also been very favourably reviewed by The Inner Ear in Canada.
The Lyra Brochure and Spec's are here:

WLM makes very efficient (95 to 98dB! and 8 ohm) speakers in various models, from their Basic Series to their Reference then Signature Series. The WLMs can typically be driven by both tube or solid state amps from 3.5 watts to 200 watts.
The Lyra for sale here are in the Reference series, but have been upgraded with the Super PAC tweeter from the Signature Series, a $2500.00 option. This pair of Lyra are also equipped with the optional Passiv/Activ switches, so that they can be operated in a Passive mode using the internal crossover, but with the flick of some switches, they can be operated with one of WLM's System Control Active Crossovers, which offer a huge jump in performance. In Active mode, you use two amplifiers, one for the tweeters and one for the woofers. At 98 dB efficiency, you don't have to go nuts with power or expensive amplfiers, and you can use amps suited to the job they are assigned-to/sound best-with, woofer or tweeter.
The System Control active crossovers start at $4000.00 and are worth every penny when it comes to tailoring the sound to your room, and compensating for recordings that have too much or too little bass or treble. Frequency range is 30Hz to 20kHz even with just the Passive Control. The Lyra are bottom ported, so they are less sensitive to room boundaries, and when set-up properly using the supplied wooden alignment tool, they image like crazy and just "disappear" in the room.
You can buy these Lyra with just the Passive Control, but it would be a huge mistake not to take advantage of the Active option. In Active mode these speakers compete with anything in the $20,000.00 to $25,000.00 category and up!
I'm selling this pair for an acquaintence, but I have owned the WLM Aura with Super PAC, the WLM DUO Passive subwoofer and System Control V for six years. I have heard a LOT of speakers over the years, many of them in my home, and I have had no urge to change. The WLMs are that good.
The Active system is NOT complicated; it's set-it-and-forget it usually, and you just make changes to compensate for less-than-optimal recordings, which is an advantage that other speaker systems do NOT have! (Those other Tweeter and Woofer controls on the back panel of the speakers are for use in Passive mode.)

The fabulously-finished cabinets of this pair of Lyra are made of Yew wood (a $1200.00 option), a wood which is now legally unavailable and protected around the world. Manufacturers would have to grow their own yew trees to get it, and it would be much more expensive to get now.
Note that the wood is darkened below the grille cloth, as the grilles have been left on. Leaving them on will not effect the sound, as the tweeters are not covered, but if you leave them off, the wood at the top will eventually darken to match the bottom.

If you had to buy a pair of Lyra nowadays, in the upgraded finish, with the Super PAC tweeter, the Passiv/Activ switches and the System Control IV, it would cost you 13,530 Euros = $17000.00 US. The included Passive Control is 890 Euros/$1100.00 US. So the total value of this package is $18000.00 (plus Taxes) but you can have it all for only $6200.00.

If you just want to buy the speakers alone and run them passively, with the Passive Control unit, it will be only $4500.00.
