Harman Kardon Citation II: $2500.00

Great condition with excellent bottom and front plate, all lettering intact. Body is straight with all screen lettering intact on top. Transformers have new paint, 6 coats of Krylon Leather Brown with primer. All knobs and pots work in back, bias and A/c are rock steady.

Professionally Rebuilt by fxBill (Audiogon member and a longtime member of the Yahoo Citation group) two years ago using the McShane Level 2 kit.

Complete re-cap using Russian K40 and Polypropylene mix as recommended by Jim McShane. Complete resistor redo using matched 1% Allen Bradley carbon comp.

Additional choke added for the bias supply makes a rock solid voltage, this was a potential weakness in some Citation II units.

ICL (Inrush Current Limiter) added by Mufich Audio for slow primary warm up. McIntosh used the ICL with great success, but was missing on Citations.

Relocation of inputs to the top front of unit, bringing noise levels down by bypassing the PS and going the shortest route to the input side. The rear inputs are disabled.

The rear A/C plug is disabled to decrease noise. A heavy duty power toggle has been added to the rear panel. Double fuses are located inside.

The left rear input is now used to measure the bias that hooks directly into a multimeter if you wish. It is much easier and accurate than using the original turn knob on the rear panel. The original rear panel meter works.

Comes biased using Cryogenic EH KT88 Matched Quad and six 12by7a matched by Mufich Audio. 7/10 rating is for vintage, not new.

Thanks for looking at my ad - Bryan

A note on my 92% rating here on Audiogon. I have one transaction that I sold a Dynaco St-70 that needed a restoration before use (all original) and the buyer thought it was ready to use in his system. The buyer used it and it had hum in one channel, using its 50 year old capacitors. He wanted his money back and I thought that I was being honest and the buyer was just having remorse, but it went to PayPal claims, I returned buyers money, negative feedback was left. I had a bad moment and it won't happen again.

The other I have is one from a speaker sale I initiated and did not follow through with. My fault.

I have over 1500 positve feedbacks on eBay with a 100% rating, same user name, since 2005; selling electronics, not socks. I will do my best to be an excellent seller and more than honest in all my transactions and emails.

If you are not happy, return this amplifier and I will fix it to your satisfaction and pay for shipping or give your money back, period!

Questions for the seller
Fabulous offering and in wonderful condition. I have the same amp with most all the same mods done by JM-protege Don Sachs and it is glorious. Lucky will be the guy that picks up this deal! Good luck.
Thank you Mark. My all time favorite amplifier, it is a glorious beast. It's sound is perfect and will drive anything from my 16 Ohm Altec to the power hungry Vandersteen. Economics dictate the sale. My consolation is I will build another when the time is right, I have another old Citation II that needs to be refurbished someday. You should try the relocating the inputs sometime, really makes her quiet. Bryan
