"James Taylor's commercial breakthrough in 1970 was predicated on the relationship between the private concerns expressed in his songs and the larger philosophical mood of his audience. He was going through depression, heartbreak, and addiction; they were recovering from the political and cultural storms of the '60s. On his follow-up to the landmark Sweet Baby James, Taylor brought his listeners up to date, wisely trying to step beyond the cultural, if not the personal, markers he had established. Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon served the valuable function of beginning to move James Taylor away from the genre he had defined, which ultimately would give him a more long-lasting appeal." - AMG.

First let me say that I would normally not offer a record like this for sale. It has audible surface noise (mostly low-level 'crackles') on both sides and may be more or less prominent on different systems. But this LP has has one of the best Side 2's that I have heard of this title. It is highly detailed, open and crystal clear rather than the usual 'nasal' and congested sound of most others. If you like this title you would do well to try this LP.
Each record is washed on a VPI cleaning machine using a proprietary 3-5 agent process which is determined by the needs of the individual record. Each record is then listened to 100% to insure that the posted description is exactly what you can expect to get.
