"Maynard was shrewd, and Maynard was quick, and he managed to beat almost everyone to the punch ó sorry ó when he recorded the theme from Rocky and watched it rise to number 28 on the pop charts. As blatant as Ferguson's rendition is, it was still the best rendition of the Bill Conti tune at the time (a lot better than the composer's own number one version) ó and Maynard Ferguson's heroic propensity for high notes and his underdog status as a hitmaker make it easy to link him with his celluloid counterpart. This record gave Maynard Ferguson the largest amount of exposure that he ever had." - AMG. The record is VG++. The jacket is Good-. The LP sounds Mint-. The sound of this LP is Excellent! The Horns are in the room with you. The soundstage is both wide and deep and the soundfield extends beyond the speakers. The sound characteristics are clean and open - transparent. This is one of those few, rare recordings that make your equipment disappear and completely let the music through. Each record is washed on a VPI cleaning machine using a proprietary 3-5 agent process which is determined by the needs of the individual record. Each record is then listened to 100% to insure that the posted description is exactly what you can expect to get. NOTE!
