A few years ago we started recording Oscar Peterson doing various popular composers, and as far as the public is concerned, and in many cases the critics too, have been some of Oscar’s most accepted albums. Not only is there the inherent beauty of the particular composers, but Oscar’s treatment, though it be jazz, still sticks sufficiently close to the melody so that you get the enjoyment of the tune as well as of Oscar’s playing, without getting in the way of the other.
