Thumbs...the nickname implies that the owner is someone you'd never trust to wash grandma's crystal,let alone expect the person to soothe your soul musically...Curiously though,a musician named THUMBS CARLLILE is a guitar virtuoso precisely because of you guessed it!...his thumbs.Thumbs unique method of holding his guitar,(lying flat on his lap as one would hold a dobro or steel guitar) had brought him almost as much acclaim as has hisincredible musicianship.His thumb and finger picking style produces unusual chord voicings that are often impossible to recreate by the more conventional methods of playing.Through his natural ability,Thumbs is somehow able to combine love for jazz,pop,and country music into a warm melodic style enjoyed by musician and listener alike.
