These are likely on of the best surround sound speakers ever made. Produced and sold in 1997 through 2000, these were actually way ahead of their time. One of the original self-powered speakers, these super-efficient powerhouses will provide huge sounds with virtually any size amplifier, as the most difficult part of the speaker to drive - the bass - is self-powered! Yes, Virginia, there is a 250 watt sub powering the massive 12 inch subwoofers. Each speaker has it's own sub, so when you combine it with a third powered sub as your final sub... well, let’s just say it is nothing less than earth shaking! To my knowledge, these speakers were one of the last Klipsch still made in the USA! I bought these mostly for my bass heavy rock, but found myself using the system to its potential only occasionally, when friends would come by for a barbeque, or family events. Most of the time I would watch whatever my wife wants to see - you know - chick flicks. Not too much bass there! Recent change in priorities and tastes have me moving in a whole other direction, in regards to sound systems. I hate to give them up, but having 3 sets of speakers in the house just does not make sense. Please see my other listings for other portions of the surround sound system for sale. These speakers are in excellent condition. They sounds tight and solid. There are no material issues, other than a couple small nicks on corners. The black shows a lot of reflection flashback.
