I have finally decided to sell the one product I said I would never sell... my Linn Sondek LP12 turntable. I am the original owner of this item and, with the exception of an upgraded set of springs and a new belt, this table is completely original, circa 1976. This was the turntable that introduced the world to high end vinyl reproduction. No oscilloscopes, no idler wheels, no multi-speeds, no stacking of albums, no dynamic balancing of platters. This table was about superb engineering and manufacturing and a very simple-looking product that did exactly what it was supposed to do.
I have used this table ever since that time, albeit very little for quite a few of those years and have recently purchased a new VPI classic which is as close to the original philosophy of my Linn as anything I have seen.
The Linn is in excellent condition, including the dust cover. There are a few minor swirl marks, as you would expect on a turntable of this vintage, and one very small dent (less than 1 mm) in the front of the plinth but everything else looks great. I am including the Sumiko MMT tonearm which was the third and final arm I had on this table. It, too looks great and still functions very well. The Micro Benz cartridge in the photo is not included and will be listed separately. However, we are including a Signet MK111E moving coil cartridge to complete the setup. It has about 300 hours on it and has not been used in quite a while. It is in it's original box including the individual spec curve for it.
I think this table deserves at least an 8 but will call it a 7 because of the age.
