I'm the original owner of the preamp, it sat in the box for 4 years before I got around to getting all the pieces for my second system.
I had no problems with the preamp over the last 2 years, since I did not use the phono section I removed those tubes when I installed it. The other tubes are from the factory, they are ok but starting to get a little noisy, I'm selling it with those tubes but my advice would be to get a new set of tubes for it.
the pictures tell the story it is in fantastic condition.
Questions for the seller |

To confirm the amp is about 4 years old. Also does this model have a remote control and what would consider is the preamp's strength? the preamp is over 5 years old, I purchased it for a second system and did not take it out of the box til last year, it sat in the closet packed in the original unopened box for 4 years.
I think that the preamp is cleary over engineered and having separate power supplies for each channel is definitely a strength, also there is no balance pot, so unless you have issues with a room that requires you to add or drop the level of one side or the other then this is really a strength not having another set of pots in the signal path.
I also like the ease of accessing the tubes, the cage just simply lifts right off, no screws to mess with, it uses gold plated banana plugs like you would use on speaker wires, very resourceful engineering.
The sound from this preamp is also all about strength, It gets out of the way and just puts the signal as unaltered to the amplifier, not too sweet and definitely not too analytical, I truly enjoyed it and if I didn't work in the oil field I would not think about getting rid of it, I like it alot. |
Grrat. Does this model have a remote control? no it does not have a remote. |
