Here is my personal experience with this simply stunning unit:  

I have owned a number of excellent USB to S/PDIF converters.  Upon installing the Tabla in my system for the very first time, what immediately and immeasurably grabbed me by the face is the much enhanced sense that the sound is detached from the loudspeakers, including coming from beyond the left of the left speaker and beyond the right of the right loudspeaker - incredible soundstage.  This coupled with the seemingly boundless three dimensions of space - depth, width, height - it is literally jaw-dropping and almost unbelievable to experience.  Then as the music calls for it you realize the much greater dynamic presentation.     


In addition, I have always been amazed at the levels of improvements running USB into the Tabla rather the USB input of any higher-priced USB DAC I have tried it with, and I have tried a good number of them.  This is simply attributed to how inferior these built-in USB converters actually are.

Again, obviously the Tabla enables you to employ the best mega-buck DAC's in the world of which the designers did not provide a USB input.    

The Human Audio Tabla hands down represents the best converter technology out there.  I would never be selling it, especially at this price, if I did not decide to try a different direction in my digital front end.  I have used it quite happily for the last couple of years.  Let my change of direction be your great new discovery.  I animatedly believe the addition of this one little piece will totally transform your entire system, as it did mine.

The charging is fully automatc without any external device since the Tabla uses the USB power for charging purpose during idle. You do nothing. When its not playing its charging. With up to 18 hours of runtime and nearly impossible to run out of battery life during any normal listening. Even if by some chance you ran it 24 hours the most that happens is the green light goes to yellow telling you its now running off USB buss power.
