Zu Audio Cube Ferrari Corsa Rosso Racing Red Gloss

These were purchased by me from ZU Audio on June 18, 2014 and delivered approximately a week later. Used sparingly for nine months as a spare bedroom home office desktop system with my computer and two different/separate small amps over that time until mid-March, 2015 when they were replaced by a small pair of two-way bookshelf speakers. Simply stated they were too much speaker for a 108 sq ft spare bedroom/home office. Cubes were cleaned and packed back in original unsealed shipping boxes where they've been in storage for the past 2+ years. These were custom painted Ferrari Gloss Red in the ZU custom shop. Serial #'s 287/288. Lovingly cared for while here even though I haven't used them in a little over 2 years. While I'm great at purchasing/experimenting with new components I'm terrible at finding new homes for old components until I run out of storage room. These are incredible full-range speakers (not monitors!) with a sensitivity rating of 98 SPL @1watt/1meter by the factory. These won't just play big equipment well but small equipment BIG  due to speaker sensitivity. In fact, with a simple little 25wpc PS Audio Sprout they'll blow up a desktop! Clear, clean, articulate and highly detailed sonics. But without at least a small sub you'll be leaving much of this investment on the table. I used a Velodyne Minivee 8  with slightly smaller footprint than the individual Cubes with incredible results. Like settling in at my desk nestled between a pair of 6 foot towers! I've run both a PS Audio Sprout as well as a Peachtree Nova (80wpc) that could easily/handily drive me and everyone else out of the house!

No worries about the diminutive size as at 27lbs each they are unquestionably real-deal speakers although at over 70 years I no longer need/want that kind of decibel level even from my main system in the living room. In fact once these are gone I won't be adding another system to my home office as I now limit myself to only primary sound system in the living room. 
 
Even under 16x magnification and intense full spectrum lighting I'm unable to find a flaw on them. And they sound even better than they look! I've rated them 9/10 due to Audiogon protocols.
