If you are familiar with Sonic Tonic, Super Sonic Tonic needs no introduction. This is the way more powerful big brother to Sonic Tonic. It is so powerful that, aside from using on components and cables,  it has a powerful effect the soundstage and resolution of an audio system in a very positive way when properly placed in one's listening environment.. 

Twice the "Tonic" 

Each Super Sonic Tonic has twice the material inside. In other words, one SST equals 8 Regular (2 sets of) Sonic Tonic. To our ears however, it's effect is more than doubled. SST is exponentially better.

As A Room Treatment

We recommend the below placement with 3 Super Sonic Tonic (SST) as a great place to start.

Placement 2 - 4 SST

Using 4 SST, the configuration adds a rear SST suspended from the ceiling or on the wall behind your listening position. This will add an even greater sense of depth and immersion.

Placement 3 - 5 SST

Using 5 SST, two  rear SST's are added and placed the corners/sidewalls of the room behind the listener. This will give a greater sense of immersion than setup 2. Also, if Setup 2 tends to focus the center image too much, leading to the narrowing of the soundstage.

Height of placement matters

There is no set height for the SST, but there are general guidelines. Lower placement affects warmth and body. Placing the SST at ear or tweeter height affects midrange frequencies most, and finally placing the SST high up on the wall affects the higher frequencies most. Note I said most. The SST's effect still reaches high and low, but the PRIMARY frequency affected is determined by the height of placements.

What you will hear

Dense, rich and dynamic images in a soundstage that not only expands beyond the width of the speakers, but beyond the boundaries of the room itself. Vocals and guitars are simply glorious with rich presence, texture and dynamic jump factor. 

Tips

If your sound is thin or lacking warmth, placement of SST on the ground up to about 18" will affect these frequencies greatest.

Finishes

• Black - More expensive because it requires 2 coats of black stain and 1 coat of polyurethane. The stain is not opaque, so some grain shows through. If you like a more opaque black finish, I recommend orering the natural finish and painting them. 
• Clear Poly - 2 coats of clear polyurethane over the wood gives the SST a golden, warmer wood finish.
