McIntosh MR-78 Pristine!

If you've been holding out for a Cosmetically and Functionally pristine Mcintosh MR-78 take a look at this one!! It is a one owner, non smoking, no pet unit that was seldom used and in a cabinet all its life. Avatar Engineering has completely refurbished it to above new specifications.The service included the Moddaferri Upgrade along with all new audio grade electrolytic capacitors throughout the entire unit including power supply which has been upgraded with higher capacitance, voltage and temperature audio caps with a film cap by-pass, ultra fast soft recovery rectifiers and all new vishay mil-spec metal film resistors! Key resistors were replaced with ultra quiet Takman, and .1% Dale precision units for the ultimate in resolution and clarity. All small value electrolytics were replaced with superior sounding film caps.The chrome and front glass are flawless. The wood case is also in great shape, there are a couple of small scratches that were touched up (see photos). Lastly the tuner was completely cleaned including all switches and pots along with an Alignment. The sound is amazing and the selectivity and sensitivity are as good as it gets! We will soon offer the matching Mcintosh MC-2155 Amplifier and Mcintosh C-34V Preamp also in mint condition and fully refurbished! All a great investment and true collectables.
