Lisitng is for my second, unmarked pair of Dynaudio "MDY-4" system as designed by Madisound. These are a very accurate, neutral 2-way design utilizing the 17W75EXT Dynaudio woofer and the D28AF tweeter with felt faceplate diffusers. The crossover utilizes expensive, audiophile-grade heavy gauge air core coils, Eagle metal oxide resisters and Solens polypropylene capacitors - same as Dynaudio uses in their Contour high end models, but lacking in their popularly-priced models. Employs the Scan Speak variovent in the cabinet to improve bass response. This was a very high end, popular kit when Dynaudio sold drivers alone for enthusiasts to build which they stopped doing years ago. Cabinets 12x8x10" black ash finish with removable black fabric grills. They weigh 14# each owing to the thick cabinet walls and crossover construction. The crossovers are VERY elaborate for this system, assembled on separate boards and bi-wired to dual 5-way gold terminals. These kits cost $650 20 years ago and use crossover components and design consistent with Dynaudio's high end line. Don't confuse these with cheap Audience level speakers. Note the quality of the crossovers in the images. Drivers are cosmetically and functionally excellent. There are virtually no marks on the cabinets as shown. Sound is superb and you will not find anything that can touch these for 4 times the price offered. Local pickup in Stamford, CT: 45 minutes from NYC right off I-95.
