Here is the most heralded of the Japanese assault on the high end in the 80’s thru mid 90’s. Onkyo got it all correct, especially the power supply. These were collectible within five years of the last one being sold.
This one is cosmetically at the top of the heap, there are two flaws. Well one. A tiny ding in the face. The other is a factory defect or stress. An anomaly in the meter glass on the inside where nothing can get at it. No matter, it’s not actual caused damage.
Most important, the full service bulletin repair has been done at an authorized shop. More than 15 hours re-soldering, replacing caps and relays along with a tired opto coupler and some transistors. (Not outputs). It is good to go for another 20 years. I have the receipt and bag of replaced parts.
Don’t miss this one. If you’ve been looking, pony up and buy excellence, not someone else’s problem.
Also ask about a Denon DP and DA-S1 CD player as well. Same mint cond. $6500.
