Up for sale here is a pair of Pass ACA (Amp Camp Amp) v1,6 stereo amplifiers that run single-ended Class A. Each unit can be used as a stereo amplifier, or as a bridged monoblock. For my setup I ran them bridged, via the XLR connection, to get the most power. I was so impressed that I went and built the Aleph J amplifier afterward.
I have over twenty years experience of building amplifiers and consider the ACAs as among the best solid-state gear I've heard. It doesn't have the :"classic" SS sound, nor does it sound like tubes. Very neutral, but still musical.
Note: These are only 6-8Ws for each amplifier channel, running a single amplifier bridged mono will get you closer to 15Ws. They like 8-ohm speakers, the higher the efficiency the better. But I still managed to get great sound - bridged - with 86dB Wharfedale speakers.
Also the gain is low, so a preamplifier of some sort is a must. These amplifiers were amazing with my Classe Five preamp.
For more information, please visit the DIY Audio Store site and examine the build guide. This will show you the different ways of configuring the output. ie, you could run a single one as a stereo amp, bridged monoblocks, or bi-amping your speakers.
Pictured power Supply bricks are included.
