JBL 4345

The JBL 4345 was the premier large (mains) studio monitor in the 1980s blue-faced multi-way era. Four-way, half cones half horn drivers. FLAT to 32hz. Eighteen-inch woofer, ten-inch mid, compression driver horns on top. 230 pounds each. The 4345 is stunningly hi-fi; the better known 4343, 4350 and 4355 series are not. They are stock with the following exceptions.

An expert at such matters has been kind enough to upgrade the network crossovers and as currently configured they are biamp only. The designer's number one suggested improvement was to biamp the system with a separate amp for the 2245H woofers. Number two was to disable the biamp switch because "it is crap and (he) was forced to include it". These items, plus drastically upgraded capacitors and circuits, have been carried out. These sound and perform even better than when they left the factory.

The other nonoriginal touch, they came to me without grill badges and I chose not to replace them with counterfeit pieces. The grill cloth is original and I have new original spec cloth to redo them, included in the purchase.

The only "damage" appears to be a bent corner on one L-pad label. I opted not to contact cement it down but leave that to the next owner. The walnut veneer is in very good shape.

These are located in Central Illinois and are offered local pickup only, but I could drive a couple of hundred miles to shorten your journey. I drove to downtown Columbus to meet the seller halfway. A van or box truck would be a must. If you want them crated and shipped you will have to make ALL the arrangements yourself, including any risk involved shipping them.

Price is $9000 US firm. Paypal or cashier's check. That is not much for this valuable pair, but I am aware of the realities of listing large, heavy items for local pickup.
