Tascam 42B-NB Reel to Reel Completely
Restored and Upgraded with Pelican Case, 90-day warranty and free
shipping to the lower 48 states, $ 7,500.00.
Tascam 42B-NB s/n 120028 864 1/4”,
1/2-track open reel recorder/reproducer.
Machine has been completely
disassembled, mechanical parts ultrasonically cleaned, reassembled
and lubed; motors disassembled and cleaned.
Power supply rebuild and upgraded using
low ESR Nichicon capacitors.
Capstan and Reel control circuits
updated with new logic chips.
Audio, Mic Pre, Monitor and Oscillator
circuits rebuild using all Nichicon MUSE, FG and KW series
capacitors.
Upgrades to audio path incorporates LME
49xxx series IC's with a distortion factor as low as 0.00003%, as
well as other proprietary design modifications to enhance sonic
performance.
Head assembly by JRF Magnetics with
report.
Mogami OFC Quad wiring to silver plated
switch allow for Direct Out to external Tape Pre through gold plated
Neutrik XLR's.
Machine has both balanced (XLR) and
unbalanced (RCA) in/out's.
Pictures have not been doctored, the
machine is that pristine cosmetically.
Currently configured NAB, but can be
changed to IEC prior to shipping (hard wiring on the audio boards) if
desired.
Although it's recommended to have
calibration tape to set the machine up and periodically check
alignment, if it makes your life easier, it can be pre calibrated and
set up for your desired levels, playback and record, and tape type
(ATR, RMGI or other).

Warranty covers all electrical and
mechanical on the machine for a period of 90 day from day of receipt.
Warranty is null and void if it is
determined that failure has occurred as a result of improper use, use
that is not described by original manufacturer for this device, as
well as damage caused by wrath of God, electrical surges, flooding
etc..
Warranty is void if tampering by third
party is detected.
Determination in case of warranty
coverage is done solely by CS Electronics.

The machine is 11" deep from front of head shield to end of rear feet.
It's 17" wide and stands 20" tall.
Very similar in size to a Studer A810. |
