Parting at long last with my Veenas as I'm back on the merry-go-round and set to explore open baffle speakers. I've had both the de Capos and the Veenas and these are truly phenomenal. A warm, enveloping sound with a very deep soundstage and better than expected imagery. The other day, listening to the Yellowjackets' "Greenhouse" lp, Will Kennedy's side-stick cymbal hits were precisely imaged, as if he were right in front of me at a small club.
These are well-reviewed here on Agon and elsewhere and the only reason I'm parting with them is to try a set of Spatials and see what all the fuss is about.
There's a small nick on the back right corner of one speaker, impossible to see when listening. Other than that, they're in pristine condition. Come with grills, jumpers and manual. Reference 3A also has superb customer service! Note: these are not the BE models, though you can very easily install the beryllium tweeters if you want to order them from Reference 3A. I did that with my de Capos.

I’ve had Venna (upgraded by Ref.3a) for almost 10 years. They play so far above their price point, especially with tubes. They are speakers you will regret or at least always remember when they’re gone. Your going to make some audiophile very happy. Good luck. I know. They're truly wonderful speakers and belong among the Reference 3A pantheon of well-designed and satisfying components. I think, as you pointed out, all the Reference 3A speakers play far above their price point. |
| Can you tell me the price of the beryllium tweeters? Tash at Reference 3A could answer that best, but I remember paying something like $300 back in 2015 for the BE tweeters for the de Capos. |
