Rarely seen in the used market, here is a like-new pair of the JBL 4429 studio monitors from the Synthesis line. These are just a few months old and barely broken in. Purchased from an authorized dealer and played conservatively in my pet-free, smoke-free dedicated listening room. For me and many reviewers, this model is one of the stars of this JBL lineup. The horns are perfectly integrated with the woofer in an unobtrusive cabinet. While 70 pounds a piece, these can still be carried by one person and placed in a room without dominating the space. While these easily filled my 18’x38’ basement room, I also imagine these would be very well suited to smaller spaces. If you’ve never experienced the way a modern horn can energize a room, here is your chance! While these definitely have a touch of retro, they aren’t slavishly so and will fit in many decors. I’m a cellist and am particularly sensitive to horn integration on string instruments and voices. JBL absolutely nails it with this combination of drivers and crossover. I spent time with the 4367 as well and, while I won’t pretend the 4429 possesses all of its virtues, at less than a 1/3 the cost and 1/2 the size, it gave me enough of the magic to make it an incredible bargain! The speakers are in perfect, as-new, 10/10 condition. The original boxes are also in perfect condition and I’d suggest we consider freight shipment so that they can be banded to a pallet. It’s not necessary, but it is a possibility. The beautiful stands by Deer Creek Audio are NOT included in the asking price of the speakers, but are highly recommended and available for an additional $250. Paypal fees are covered but shipping is BUYER’S responsibility and will be charged at actual cost. Calculated shipping cost via Audiogon is for ONE speaker, so it will be higher. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions. Read my feedback and buy with confidence. I have the opportunity to invest in a musical instrument which is the only reason for selling...I’ll be very sad to see these go.
