SPJ La Luce Turntable w/Lyla Tonearm - simply the best!

Here is one of the finest turntables I have ever owned - the SPJ La Luce from Judith Spotheim. There was a time when this was a Class A rated Stereophile component - and rightly so!!! Huge soundstage, gorgeous midrange, highs as far as the cartridge can reach and huge, tight bass.

This is a very engaging turntable - it's hard not to stop and listen to it when it's playing. It beat out many turntables I compared it with over the years (via digital recordings made scientifically).
The Lyla tonearm is an amazing unipivot arm - one of the best I've seen or heard (and I've had them all). Judith offers an anti-skating device if you choose to use low viscosity fluid in the reservoir - I used very thick fluid with excellent results in that department - much like a Well Tempered Arm (for point of reference). The titanium material is versatile enough to accommodate a wide range of phono cartridges - its stiffness allows for the most low compliance and yet its mass is low enough not to hinder a medium compliance cartridge. Not to mention the repeatable VTA adjustment - if you have a steady hand, you can do it on the fly!?!
The 'table itself has an incredibly smooth bearing that if you pull the belt and spin the platter takes forever to come to a stop...and it shows in its performance.
This 'table has served me well. I guarantee it will serve you as well if not better...it's the best turntable I know of.
