If you're here, you know what this is. What many say is the finest sounding DAC ever designed (including the late Harry Pearson of The Absolute Sound), the Manley Gold Reference DAC employs rare ULTRA-ANALOG hand-built fully-discrete dual mono DAC hybrids along with a Pacific Microsonics HDCD decoder / processor and filter unit. The DAC section is coupled with special topology dual-mono vacuum tube analogue line amplifiers: a fully differential input circuitry driving Manley's top-line high current totem pole output stage. Both single-ended capacitor coupled unbalanced outputs and balanced transformer coupled outputs are provided.
This unit is in mint condition, purchased new directly from Manley. Not a scratch on it, perfect in every way. Used only in our non-smoking 5.1 mastering studio. Just characterized on an Audio Precision 2722 using the Stereophile test suite. Everything is objectively perfect. Test results will be provided at no charge to the buyer. Just dropped price from $3,000 to $2,695 for quick sale.
