Thorens TD-125 mkII

TD-125 mkII in gorgeous gold, restored by a Thorens specialist.

The following work was performed:

• all operation parts checked, cleaned and lubricated, including the spindle bearing, the sub-platter, motor, suspension springs, ...
• main platter painted with 24K gold material
• plinth has been refinished, painted in black with high grade automotive paint and lacquered several coats to get that high gloss shiny piano black look
• the top chassis of the turntable has been stripped down, primed and painted in 24K gold material for a unique and contemporary look
• new belt has been installed
• aging PCB capacitors were replaced
• trimpots were dialed to adjust three speeds to correct and stable value
• suspension has been tuned up and adjusted (you may need to slightly adjust it depending on your tonearm weight)
• high quality brass cones in satin finish, installed at the bottom of plinth to improve further the performance in terms of clarity ,definition and imaging of sound-stage
• audiophile High Grade power cable has been installed for quieter background

This TD125 mk2 performs at the top of its potential: it sounds extremely musical and refined, competitive with tables costing WAY more, close to the fabled and much pricier TD-124.

It comes with 3 pre-drilled armboards: SME, Jelco, Graham, giving you a wide range of tonearm choices. (The Schroeder tonearm and its custom cherry arm board, and the Graham tonearm, are not included in the sale ; I included these pictures to show how the table looks like when fully decked).
I pack very carefully and know how to protect turntables. Local pickup welcome.
