This Koetsu Onyx Long Body is indeed working beautifully. A nude Vital Line Contact was installed. With the new diamond, it sounds smooth and truly amazing.
Not certain, but there’s a good chance this Onyx was handmade by Sugano-san himself.
It was just repaired and serviced with the following:
Retipped (not new factory)
Most of that boron cantilever is intact and the boron will transmit most of the vibration so it sounds fantastic.
There is a crack on the spindle side of the body which has been repaired. It Is not seen when in use.
A new dust boot has been installed.
My technician has stated that the suspension is fine and testing great. Please see the images showing measurement readouts.
