REDUCED again! --for Audiogon buyers only at this point in time! My babied RX 505 is for sale. It is working operationally as designed and is cosmetically looking extremely well for its age. When I bought this deck about 10 yrs ago I had a well known NAK tech go through it and he replaced a couple of belts and told me it looked like new inside. Considering the light use since then I would suspect it looks much the same regardless of its age.
Covered in the rack when not in use and for about 5 or 6 yrs I recorded an hour program once a week that I particularly liked. Sitting idle not recommended for any tape deck. Last 4 or 5 yrs I have not used it as much (playing and recording less frequently) and now decide that it's time for someone else to enjoy.
Attempted to reveal tiny nicks on top edge of face ---uploaded a few more pics. They are tiny and most of what you see for sale can be quite nicked up as that area is vulnerable.
Includes very rare NAK remote, extra NAK remote extension cable for total of 18 feet of remote cable. Spare belt and idler tire, and the manual. I bought the belt and tire way back when deck was first serviced to use the next time it needs a belt or idler.
This is a vintage deck and while it is in excellent operating condition any future service will be the responsibility of the new owner. I can provide contact info for the tech that I can whole heartedly recommend who is reasonable , honest, and highly qualified. These days this is no small feat as good quality service at a reasonable rate is practically impossible. Recent service performed by him was on the mode controller mechanism . Receipt of this job will be provided to new owner
My packing exceeds what would be considered a good pack job. While I do not have factory boxes rest assured that this unit will be double boxed with packing in both boxes and configured in such a way to withstand a 6 foot drop.. It will arrive in the same condition that it was here before I shipped it. And will of course be shipped insured via FEDEX .
Exact cost of shipping to be calculated after sale. Buyer pays shipping and I will eat PP. Thanks for looking!
