Up for consideration is a Krell Evolution 302 Stereo amplifier with 300W/ch (double down all the way to 2ohms!)
This is the last (second last if you count the e revision) true Krell when Dan D'agostino was still at the helm. It is a muscular amplifier with 300W (truly 300W) on tap for 8ohms, 600W at 4ohms and 1200W at 2ohms, all rated RMS power. As a result it has a 20A IEC inlet, and a very beafy circuit breaker; and it also weight 120lbs on its own (hence I put it on moving board). It powered my Sonus Faber Olympica II floorstanders (up for sale soon) to a level I never expected, even the McIntosh can't touch. Nice bottom end, detail high and amazing mid which is surprising for a muscular amp like this. It's also a good space heater in the winter as it generate heat even when in standby. Compared to the "Krell" amps these days, this is a beast and I would say it beats the 10K new "Krell" in every aspect (except they tuned the new amps warmer, which some people like), as at one point I tried to replace it with a smaller new Krell but tried it at home and it's not great.
This one is in rare black color, and while it's not perfectly scratch-less (see the last few photos), you won't notice it from 1 ft away. It also comes with the original box.
I would definitely prefer local pick-up (Santa Clara, CA or surrounding area). If I were to ship this we'll have to go freight and that will cost quite a bit (150USD at least). I received this from UPS but I won't recommend doing that given the weight.
Note: Red ring means standby. Blue ring means "ON". Unlike the e series it doesn't have a "green ring" mode.
Questions for the seller |

Hello there, I live down in Hollister and work in San Jose and Watsonville, I f I may ask what McIntosh did you copair this Amp with ? I have a set of McIntosh MC 501Mono blocks for the Last fifteen years I thinking about buying a old Krell class A amp maybe we can work something out, although I would like to hear this Amp in my system, let me know if you would consider that, thanks my name is Michael I used to have integrated mostly (MA6900, MA8000) but the Krell always draw me back with even a cheap preamp. I would say it's more dynamic than the McIntosh and more resolving but to be honest I never tried the MC501 so I cannot really tell |
