Sony ST-J75

Reduced yet again!       Restored ST-J75 for sale. For best performance , especially from a vintage tuner, a restoration even a partial one that includes an alignment is the way to go. It's just the nature of the beast.  The operative word though is serviced by a professional and this tuner is exactly that.  The AGS rating is of course for cosmetics as the operational conditional is excellent.  

 Fully serviced by ASL of Savage, Mn. Check the notes on the job order that is shown in the pics. Had a mysterious a/c mod done in the past ,,etc. Note service bulletin. Very unusual to even know about any pending service bulletins. Bona fide tech will have access to that and address the issue as its been done on this.
Strong performance and exceeds many tuners higher up in the food chain for low noise floor. See review at fmtunerinfo.com  It really is striking how black the background is when tuned in to a decent signal station and a proper antenna is used of course..   see below.    

Scratches on top of tuner --the way I got it. doesn't affect sound. : ) Also, as is often done 300 ohm antenna is disabled in favor of using coax connector. An adapter ($3) can be used if 75ohm coax (rooftop) is not used. Dipole connects to the adapter and that is plugged into 75 ohm coax.

Of course best performance will be had by using a rooftop rotatable antenna. No tuner can perform its best without the antenna as part of the dynamic and a dipole can only do so much. If you like to listen to FM and have not ever used a rooftop antenna  there is a revelation in store .   you will be blown away at the results in sound quality due optimization of signal reception.

Also, the  little station number tabs that slot into a holder did not come with this tuner when i bought it.    Some are already in there and depending what stations are tuned in there may be a corresponding tab to utilize preset. Presets work whether correct tab is in there or not.
