I just realized that no one all knows the NuForce STA-200. Here's a bit more background around the tube noise. The Nuforce sta200 has 34.4db gain which I understand it's higher than average which will pass thru more noise. Schiit vidar is 27db and Aegir is 22db. But there's a lot of other factors (e g., Tubes, ac quality).

I have a used but in good condition Schiit Freya (1st Gen).  It works as it should.  I have both the original standard tubes and Electro-Harmonix 6SN7 platinum (no cryo) from Upscale Audio with less than 20hours. It comes with the original box, manual, remote (Plastic) and power cord as pictured.  The remote is the original plastic remote and has two small dents, but works fine.
There's probably a few small scratches on the case, but nothing major.
I placed it on a bookcase shelf and used it with Nuforce STA-200 amplifier and Schiit Modi Multibit through the RCA.  I really enjoy this system!  The Schiit Freya is a really nice piece that I've really enjoyed.  I wanted to build a full balanced system, but never got around to it and now looking to move to a simple integrated amplify system.
The passive and JFET mode are quiet (e.g., no noise).  The tubes for me introduced that nice tuby sound without going to far.  The tube mode did introduce background noise for me, but never enough to hear from my seating position 15 feet away.

The standard tubes has lot of microphonics in my setup - not sure if it was because I had it on a shelf.  The electro-harmonix has none (or almost none) and I liked the sound of these much better than the stock - it provided me with more of that tuby sound that I was looking for.
You experience may vary as it depends on your system, AC quality, etc.
Original price: Electro-harmonix is $107  Schiit Freya (MSRP) $699 (vs. the latest version of the Schiit Freya + which is $899)
Total = $806
I have mostly purchased on Audiogon and have a positive rating.  I have sold a lot on ebay (same hk29 100% feedback 331).
