Naim Audio Inspired Preamp w/ Phono

Hello. I built this preamp for a 2nd system that never materialized. The (stacked in the middle) preamp boards are inspired by the NAC 42 and the phono board is inspired by the Stageline N phono preamp. The power supply / regulator board is also designed around a Naim preamp power supply unit. The power transformer and dedicated 12v power supply for the input switching board are in an external enclosure to keep noise down. There is a ‘ground / ground lift’ switch on the external chassis to eliminate ground hum issues with your particular setup. The overall condition is excellent but with all DIY items, it’s not perfect. I had a larger knob on the input selector at one time that put a curved scratch on the faceplate. Not too noticeable but it’s worth mentioning.

I have owned a few Naim pieces and this preamp gets you 80% there. Wide open midrange, smooth highs and accurate bass with that familiar Naim signature sound. A tremendous value for my asking price. The inputs are as follows starting at the left: Mute, Phono, AUX 1 and AUX 2.

The gold anodized aluminum preamp enclosure measures 12” wide by 8” deep by 3” tall. Let me know if you have any questions.
